It's starting to feel like spring!

From Drop Box

From Drop Box

It's finally starting to look like spring! It was so warm and nice we pulled out the 4 wheeler and went for a short ride. Logan whined whenever Matt and the kids went by. He wanted to go too! He got to ride from the front yard to the backyard. He enjoyed throwing gravel until he put it in his mouth and then we were done. What a nice fun day! Too bad it's going to get cold again before it gets warm again.

I loved the pictures of Mikelle pushing Logan in the doll stroller and had to share. He loved it! He has also really been liking to play with the leapfrog letters on the fridge. I was so excited to see it at the Bountiful DI. Their DI was so much cooler than ours. Logan is very mechanical and loves taking things apart and putting them back together. (Like unscrewing our chair downstairs.) He likes to try to put the letters in the thing to make it work but has a hard time getting it in. He can also pick out the sphere in his shape sorter if you ask him. What a smart boy!

Mommy's helper

From Drop Box

Logan loves to "help" with everything. He loves unloading the dishwasher. (I hope he continues to love cleaning when he gets older.) I love how he sticks his little tongue out as he works. He thinks he's so big! Mommy loves having a little helper most of the time!

Monday Monday

We had a really great day! We had lunch at the park by Matt's work. It was really chilly outside but it didn't stop the girls from running around and getting wet. They were some kind of animal (I think) and wanted us to catch them. I decided that I must be really old and out of shape because there is no way I could catch them. Mikelle yelled over to us, "You guys are Indians and want to catch Kass for the meat and me for a pet." Again I have NO idea what they were but apparently something we might eat. After lunch we went to the library and got library cards and a LOT of books. Later that night we went swimming at Sand Holllow Aquatic Center. (The water was even warm.) We are really excited for our new home because it's close by Sand Hollow. We are hoping to get a pass so that our family can go alot and get lots of exercise.

Dear tooth fairy

I wish I had a scanner. Mikelle lost a silver tooth and knows that you do not get anything from the tooth fairy if the tooth is not good. I found a letter to the tooth fairy. It reads:

dear tooth fairy, I now my tooth is selver But it was their sence I was two. I guss I dident like to brush my teeth so you dont have to give me any mony ok.
your friend Mikelle

Nice try Mikelle! She is always looking for a way to make a little extra money. I love that girl. She has spunk and is so creative!

Lovin' on Daddy

Logan loves his daddy! He has certain times where he just loves on Matt.
I thought that they just looked so sweet!

Fathers are wonderful people
too little understood,
And we do not sing their praises
As often as we should...
For, somehow, Father seems to be
The man who pays the bills,
While Mother binds up little hurts
And nurses all our ills...
And Father struggles daily
To live up to "HIS IMAGE"
As protector and provider
And "hero or the scrimmage"...
And perhaps that is the reason
We sometimes get the notion,
That Fathers are not subject
To the thing we call emotion,
But if you look inside Dad's heart,
Where no one else can see
You'll find he's sentimental
And as "soft" as he can be...
But he's so busy every day
In the grueling race of life,
He leaves the sentimental stuff
To his partner and his wife...
But Fathers are just WONDERFUL
In a million different ways,
And they merit loving compliments
And accolade of praise,
For the only reason Dad aspires
To fortune and success
Is to make the family proud of him
And to bring them happiness...
And like OUR HEAVENLY FATHER,
He's a guardian and a guide,
Someone that we can count on
To be ALWAYS ON OUR SIDE

Everybody loves pie

Everyone likes pie! Even raw foodists! So I got busy today and made a raw pie. I haven't tasted the finished product but definitely licked the bowl clean as I made it and it was delicious! I used coconut cream and avocado as the base with bits of shredded coconut in it. It has an almond nut crust with blended dates to hold it together. I also put bananas on the bottom (so they don't brown) under the coconut cream and sweetened everything with agave syrup. I had left over of the base and put some carob powder in it and it tastes like a healthy version of chocolate pudding!
Mmmmm... I'm getting excited to try it.

Lovin' my little guy!

d

Logan is 9 months old! He's technically been out of the womb longer than he was in. I can't believe he will be 1 in just a few more months. He has got such a sweet personality and disposition. No crawling yet. He has started getting up on his knees and can scoot pretty much anywhere he wants to get to. It depends on how bad he wants something. He sits himself up and pulls up to furniture. I need to raise the crib already because he can pull himself up. He's very active and loves getting into things. He waves his arms at everyone and waves bye. He loves to play peek-a-boo and patty-cake and laughs at all the silly things we do. He likes watching the girls get off the bus. He loves and knows his family and we love him too!

I love his new diapers and had to get some pictures of him in them. It's really hard to get him to stay in one place but I tried. He's so active. Hope you enjoy them as much as me.

What I have learned about Cloth diapering:

So far I still really like my Bum Genious (BG's) diapers but I hate the inserts. The inserts stink! The microfiber is really hard to clean because they hold everything in. It's really hard to get all the soap out of them even with another wash with just water. I ended up ordering some plain ol' prefolds (not the cheap Gerber kind that I wouldn't even use as cleaning rags) to stuff my diapers. I bought them at a great price ($ 0.58 a piece, I think) from Mandalay Humanitarian. I ordered them that afternoon and they came the very next day. WOW! They also do not stink! Woo hoo! I have been also thinking of just getting some really cute diaper covers when Logi outgrows his current diapers and see if I like them. I love my new Blueberry diapers. They're minky and really well made. I also like that they are snaps. They tend to hold up nicer than the velcro. The velcro is super strong but tends to curl and stick to stuff in the wash. I wish I could buy more Blueberries but they are a little spendy. When they have their next buy 2 get 1 free or their buy 2 get 2 free then I'll maybe order more. When Logan was sick and had diarrhea (sorry a little graphic) I learned that we didn't have enough wipes. I found that the cheap baby washcloths from Target work great as wipes. I totally reccomend the wipe warmer that I use. It keeps them warm and clean. So, I hope that was helpful for anyone that was curious as to how we like cloth diapering. I wish I had done it on all of my kids. It's surprisingly not that bad. After Logi was sick I think we made back a lot of our investment. We went through a lot of diapers and wipes. I do use disposables when we are traveling and out and about but I really hate the smell of them. I'm sensitive to a lot of chemicals and dislike the smell of them. Of course I also have a very strong sense of smell. The girls wrote about their mom and kept mentioning how their mom thinks Daisy stinks. ha ha ha

Dr Seuss Week

Thing one! Okay, we didn't dress up Loggs but he's so cute!

The Cat in the Hat and Daisy Head Mayzie

The girls love Dr Seuss Week and had lots of fun dressing up everyday. Mikelle made her costume all by herself. I tied the bow and that's it. She took tights and stuffed them for the tail. Kass planned her outfit very last minute but it worked great!

Picture Tag

Go to your 4th album and pick the 4th picture. Then share about that picture. I actually just hit the upload picture button and picked the 4th album that way. After looking in my pictures I found that the 4th album in my pictures was different so I wanted to post it too because it's really funny.

Picture 1:
This is my mom and dad on their wedding day. I scanned and fixed all of their pictures of their wedding for them. I just have to say that I love the bell bottom tux. It's so fun to see old pictures. My parents look so young.

Picture 2:
My girls love to color on themselves. This was after Logan was born and I don't know if they knew they could get away with this because I was tired and not watching them as well as I should have or if it was just because they were bored. Who knows? Anyway, they not only colored all over themselves but also did their hair crazy. At least they used washable markers!

Rock band / Crab fest

For President's day we went to Bryce's house and finally used up the crab we have had in the freezer forever. We had lots of fun! The kids were really getting into rock band. Bryce, Matt and Draven also pulled out their real guitars and entertained us. Logan really loves music and got so excited watching everyone.
I'm on the lookout for the next crab sale!
Kyle and Shelley we're looking forward to Crab fest with you next time crab goes on sale so be prepared.

Birthday / Valentine's Day Weekend

Badger Badger Badger Badger Mushroom Mushroom

My boys checking out the view. Not sure why the picture keeps going sideways.

I'm nursing Logan under that blanket in his carrier. The snow girl looked like she had a dress on from behind but she looked naked from the front.

Logan liked the animals.

For my birthday/Valentine's Day Matt was planning on taking me to Bryce Canyon. Well, the weather said,"No." So we went Zion's NP instead. We stayed at the Majestic View Lodge and even got a hike in. We had lots of fun. There was a small animal museum at the Majestic view that we looked at with Logan. It was great getting away. We came home Valentine's day and even got a chance to get a better look at one of the houses we are considering buying.

Kassidee finger update

For those that are wondering if Kassi's fingernail has fallen off yet..... the answer is "kinda." The top has fallen off. The bottom is still attached. Yeah, I know, Weird! It also unfortunately snags and catches on everything. Mikelle washed Kassidee's hair for her the other night because her hair kept getting caught in her fingernail. What a sweet sister. I have not been able to get a good picture of her finger (they are always blurry), but if I do happen to get one I'll post it. It looks really really weird!

Logan is 8 months old. He has such a fun disposition and loves his family. He loves playing with Matt and the girls and they make him laugh. He's starting to say, "Dada," and knows who people are. He gives kisses and loves when asked. It's so cute! He's also going through the stranger phase and is very clingy. He warms up to people after a little while though. He loves to be outside and really loves to swim. We went to the new pool in Washington and he loved it. He was even okay with my mom holding him there while we went on the slide. He still doesn't crawl, but can scoot backwards. It usually makes him really mad. He gets really mad if he doesn't get what he wants so I'm expecting that he'll be crawling soon enough. He's such a fun addition to our family. I can't imagine life without him!

From daddy's funny

MIkelle's birthday

We had Mikelle's party at the Cottonwood Cove Park. It's a really neat park. The kids call it the spinny park. The playground equipment spins or moves in interesting ways. It was so much fun having all her friends and our family there. Thanks everyone for making it so great!

Discovery Gateway

These are kind of old. I have been such a slacker and haven't posted anything for so long. When we went to McKay's baptism we spent some time at the Discovery Gateway. We really needed to get the kids out of the house. This was really fun!

Randomness

Liberty pretending her finger is broken.

Kass with her splint. (I'm not sure why the pictures are turned sideways. Sorry.)

Kass's broken finger. She's getting worried about the fingernail falling off. She keeps asking if it's going to hurt. She's sooooo tough!

We stopped by to see my Grandma Florence and we pulled out the camera. The girls had fun on the wheelchair. Then Mikelle and Logan went for a ride. He thought that he was so big. She's doing a little better than she has been doing recently but she's still not doing great! I feel so bad for her. Poor Grandma!

Survivng Christmas

Well we survived Christmas and all (okay maybe not all) I have to say is,"I AM SO THANKFUL FOR GREAT FAMILY AND FRIENDS!" Things would have been awful without you. We had our Explorer break down right outside of Winchester. Thank goodness Matt made it off the road okay. We had a bearing go out and it made our vehicle swerve. My dad and brother spent some of Christmas Eve and some of Christmas looking at it for us. They even met us half way in Veyo to get the keys. Thanks guys!
We borrowed a vehicle to go to Christmas dinner in St. George. Thanks mom and dad B.
We got stuck behind a vehicle that had gone off of the road in Pine Valley into a ditch (dead man's curve) for about 35-40 mins on the way there. Logan cried all the rest of the way there and Kass whined. While we were there Kass hurt her finger. My parent's next door neighbor asked if that was our vehicle along the side of the road. He towed it for free! Thanks Paul! We just need to figure out how to repay him.
Ride home: crying baby, whining Kass, emotional Mikelle, stressed parents, and a blizzard that was blowing so hard we could barely see 10 ft in front of us. We made it though! Bryce & Ann's family got snowed in at our place for 2 days. It was fun having them there but I know that it was hard for them because they weren't really prepared. We have had a house full of people for quite some time. Jessica & Patrick's family came the week of Christmas and Jamin & Karen's family came the week after Christmas. It's been fun and a little crazy having soooo many people together. We were going to get pictures with everyone but they got cancelled.
We took Kass into my mom's work and we x-rayed her finger and had Dr. Parry look at it. Yep, It's broken! At least it's not out of place and we are just using a splint to prevent her from making it worse. Thanks Mom for coming and picking us up and taking us in since I didn't have a vehicle yet.
A guy at my dad's work fixed our vehicle for us free of charge. We just owe the price of the part. Thank you Bruce!
My brother got us a quote on tires and we were able to get them on the very next day. Thanks Ruddy!
So far, we have had a really eventful Christmas. It could have been a lot worse if it wasn't for such wonderful friends and family! I don't know what we would have done without all of their help! Thank you!!! We are so blessed!
