Mikelle was gone for Easter so we decided to do something fun with the whole family on Monday. Matt took the day off and we headed up to Zion's with Bryce and Annalees's kiddos. We had a picnic and then went and played down by the river. Logan was fascinated by the dirt. He even liked eating it. Unfortunately our visit was cut short. Matt and I needed to get back to sign a short sale addendum to the house we placed an offer on. It had to be faxed back by 6 p.m. Then Mikelle stepped on a cactus. Guess it wasn't our day for hiking. We still had a lot of fun and enjoyed spending time with each other. Kassidee was the most sad about leaving so soon. I mentioned maybe Jamin and Karen's family would want to go next weekend when they come visit. We'll see what happens. It was still a really fun day!

Look out for cacti

Other happenings
New baby chicks - NOT ours! They're my parents. Although Mikelle was worried that she wasn't going to get to see them enough to train them to be nice.
I forgot to post these from awhile ago. We went to Joseph, a Nashville Tribute in March. It was awesome. Logan doesn't do well when we leave him. We left him with my parents and came home to this. He only let my dad hold him. He fell asleep with grandpa. Cute, sad, and funny all at the same time. What can I say? He's a mama's boy! Can't wait for him to outgrow that phase.
Easter
I love Easter! It is my favorite time of the year. I love all the new life. Flowers, baby chicks, bunnies.... all the cutesie stuff. More importantly I love the Savior. I love all that He has done for us and the how the Easter season really emphasizes His life and sacrifice (or at least it should.) I really wanted to focus on Jesus this Easter season. I picked out some really great books from Deseret book to put in the Easter baskets along with some candy. We use the same Easter baskets every year. I made them when the girls were young. I need to make some for Logan and Mia now too. Mikelle went with her dad this year to the cabin. I got to spend some special time with Kassidee on Saturday. We woke up to snow! Yay Snow! (Note the tad bit of sarcasm) Then we went to the Washington park to do their egg hunt and got rained on. It mostly just sprinkled. Then we went to the Washington pool for the Duckie Drop. Kass and Mia had lots of fun swimming. Logan and I didn't have a suit so we just watched. It was a blast! Kass won a free kids meal to DelTaco and Chili's and a free swim pass for a day, and a few other small candies and things. We had a special guest appear at our Sunday services in our ward. President Uchtdorf and his wife showed up and he shared with us a nice Easter message. We have some more fun activities planned for tomorrow with the whole family (since Mikelle will be with us.) So far it has been a really great Easter!
Daisy
Logan said his first word besides Mama and Dada. Yep, it's Daisy! He loves Daisy. He chases balls right along side her and books it over to her as soon as he sees her. He likes to grab her nose or ears and pull. She is so patient with him. She just gets up and moves from him. He is also fascinated with her food bowl and loves watching her eat. He likes to get into any chance he gets.

FHE
The girls planned family home evening all on their own. Mikelle did really well on the lesson. She made puppets for us and gave us a lesson on being connected as a family. Kass made the dessert. If you know anything about kass then I don't need to tell you it was cherry chip cake. She loves it and makes it every time it's her turn for dessert. The girls decorated their cakes and we're very excited about how they turned out. I'm so glad that they love the gospel and love FHE.
