Mermaid or Whale?

I loved this so I'm posting it!

Recently, in a large French city, a poster featuring a young, thin and tan woman appeared in the window of a gym. It said:

“THIS SUMMER DO YOU WANT TO BE A MERMAID OR A WHALE?”

A middle aged woman, whose physical characteristics did not match those of the woman on the poster, responded publicly to the question posed by the gym.

To Whom It May Concern:

Whales are always surrounded by friends (dolphins, sea lions, curious humans).. They have an active sex life; they get pregnant and have adorable baby whales. They have a wonderful time with dolphins stuffing themselves with shrimp. They play and swim in the seas, seeing wonderful places like Patagonia, the Barren Sea and the coral reefs of Polynesia . Whales are wonderful singers and have even recorded CDs. They are incredible creatures and virtually have no predators other than humans. They are loved, protected and admired by almost everyone in the world.

Mermaids don't exist. If they did exist, they would be lining up outside the offices of Argentinean psychoanalysts due to identity crisis. Fish or human? They don't have a sex life because they kill men who get close to them not to mention how could they have sex? Just look at them.....where is IT? Therefore, they don't have kids either. Not to mention who wants to get close to a girl who smells like a fish store?

The choice is perfectly clear to me; I want to be a whale.

We are in an age when media puts into our heads the idea that only skinny people are beautiful, but I prefer to enjoy an ice cream with my kids, a good dinner with a man who makes me shiver and a piece of chocolate with my friends. With time we gain weight because we accumulate so much information and wisdom in our heads that when there is no more room it distributes out to the rest of our bodies. So we aren't heavy, we are enormously cultured, educated and happy. Beginning today, when I look at my butt in the mirror I will think, ¨Good grief, look how smart I am...¨

Momentous Occasion!

I found my Belts! Yay! For those of you who really really know me, know that I need to wear a belt more often than I do. Well, I haven't been able to find any of them for over a year and a half. We had no closet in Pine Valley. Let me tell you how hard that is.... Okay, I won't really, but it has been really hard. We had a thing that we could hang some shirts on that Jess left for us. (Thank you Jess!) I let Matt hang up his shirts. Yes, I love him that much! He probably doesn't even understand that sacrifice on my part. The Way my shirts are organized in my closet is a BIG deal to me. I even color code them. Well, Since all my shirts were not on hangers I had stuck the hangers in a garbage sack with.... bum ba ba bum... my belts! Silly me! NO more plumbers crack or butt cleavage for me! Yay! Seriously, I am so so so sooooooooooooooooo excited to have a closet now that I can hang up my clothes. I can see what shirts I have. I can wear all my dresses again. It's the little things like this that are the most exciting thing for me. I'm so excited for all of our stuff to finally have a permanent place to reside. I'm excited to be able to keep all of our stuff put away! What a great great feeling..... and what a great day for all of those out there who where sick of seeing my bum! Yay!

Sooooo loooonnnngggg

That's what she said. Sorry couldn't resist. Sooooo long since I've updated my blog. We have been so busy and had a few internet troubles also. When there is NO internet it is very hard to do anything online. Weird how that works. Anyway..... Big news.
We have a New Home! Yay!
We are so excited. I think that it took so long because it really needed to work out for our family and also the family that we got the house from. They seem really nice and needed to move quickly. Sometimes things don't work in the time that we think that they should, but the Lord always has a plan and a purpose for all things. We feel really blessed to be where we are and it just feels like home. Sometimes it's hard to believe that we really own this.It is really ours. Mikelle and Kassidee are both doing really well in their new school and have made some new friends. We live close to the school and get to walk to school. Today was the first day that they walked to school on their own. Logan cried. He was starting to really like walking them to school. They really wanted to go by themselves though. Maybe we will have to compromise. We can all walk to school but they can walk home by themselves. We'll have to see. The neighbor's dog got in our yard this morning. Daisy was soooooo excited! She made a new friend. The neighbors aren't home so I think it's still in our yard and still playing. So far, we have had really great neighbors. The next door neighbor has been really helpful and called around and got help for us when we were unloading our things. Some neighbors down the street left us some goodies yesterday while we were away. I can't wait until we get everything put away. Too bad it just can't put itself away. I will definitely post pics once we get everything put away and get things a little more organized. I have a lot of pics on my camera from all the exciting things we have been doing lately so when I get a chance I'll post those too. Thanks everyone that has been so helpful while we were moving. Captain Awesome for all your awesome help moving things. My dad for all his hard work and for helping take the girls to school those days before we were in our home. My mom, and Steph, and Chris and Vicki, and all that have helped with the girlies. Mom and Dad B. for all their help. Thanks for letting us stay in your home for so long. It has been great getting to know you better. And EVERYONE else that have been so wonderful and helped us through this transition.
Thank you! Thank you!
