Eeeewwwww! Gross!

So, we learned today that eating our boogers are actually good for our immune system. (I personally thought the whole purpose of them was to get germs out of our nose, and doesn't eating them put them back in there?) Your nose and sinuses make about a quart (about 1 liter) of snot (mucus) every day. Mikelle and Kassidee both announced that they love to eat their boogers. As if I didn't know that already. Mikelle said, "Well, they don't really taste. I just like the way they chew." Eeewwwww! Even if they really are good for us I have to say that it's still a really gross thought!

Remembering Jazzy

I let the girls make their very own scrapbook of Jazzy today. They loved putting everything together and I think that it helped them deal with their grief by sharing happy memories. I thought that they did a great job! Kassidee got a little sticker happy! I kept telling her that she needed to put the pictures down first before she does the other stuff. She is soooooo stubborn. Oh yeah, did I mention that Kassidee is stubborn. Finally after a few attempts where the pictures didn't fit she said," I think I need to put the picture first." I love how she put the flower rhinestone stickers in everyone's hair in every single picture.

Here's Kassidee's scrapbook:

Here's Mikelle's scrapbook. I think that she has a real eye for this sort of thing. She really loved making it. I added extra blank pages in hers. Now maybe she will keep her little hands out of our other scrapbooks. She's always borrowing things she likes from things I've already created.

It is Snowing! It is Snowing!

This was the view this morning! Ruston eat your heart out!
I know you wish you could get in that close to turkeys without even having to call them in.

Hey! Where'd the mountains go?
It was snowing so much this morning that we couldn't even see our beautiful mountains!
Unfortunately, when I was taking Kass to the bus it was also hard to see the road.
What a beautiful day!
It's the perfect day to sit by the fire and sip hot cocoa!

Dance Like Snowflakes

(Sung to Are You Sleeping)

Dance like snowflakes, dance like snowflakes

In the air, in the air

Whirling, twirling snowflakes

Whirling, twirling snowflakes

Here and there, here and there

Okay, Cheesy Poem. Yeah I know.
I was missing the kids at school today.

Okay one more! I know everyone loves it.

Pudgie Little Snowman

A pudgie little snowman

had a carrot nose

Along came a bunny

and what do you suppose.

That hungry little bunny

looking for some lunch

Ate the little snowman's nose

Nibble, Nibble, CRUNCH!

Now we just need to make a snowman when the girls come home!

It's a Boy!

I just had my ultrasound and It's a Boy!
We weren't able to record it because they are just learning all their new equipment.
We did get some good pictures and if we can scan them will post them later!
The Wilcox side finally has some boys in it, but I think it evens out the Bergeson side!
We're really excited! Now to pick out some names.....

four wheelin' fun

The girls had a lot of fun sledding behind the 4 wheeler. Mikelle informed me that it's no fun to go sledding the other way. It's too much work to pull the sled up the hill. Daisy got a lot of good exercise and loved it. Her paws are a little tender now. She needs some snow boots for running.

Kassidee started out in front and then they traded places.

It's always fun until someone starts crying!

Nature's playground!

The girl's new favorite place to play is called the "Icy River." It's great! I made sure they know they can't go very far without an adult and they have to take Daisy with them. They have "houses" all over the place. Some they share and some are just Mikelle's or Kassidee's. They also have a new "horse" made out of a tree. They sing happy birthday to the baby trees and love laying on their secret rocks. One of their houses even has a bed...er...rock in it. They loved showing us all around. We had a really great time. Daisy had a little trouble making it over the "secret" bridge.

girls in purple

I swear this wasn't planned. We noticed that all 3 girlies were wearing purple and we had to take pictures. I can't believe how big Mia is getting. She's very tall for her age. It's so fun to hear her baby noises and she's really starting to smile and giggle. She loves Mikelle. Mikelle says that she's her girl!

Jazzy Bunny

The girls said their final goodbyes to Jazzy. She's getting really old and starting to have some problems. She has arthritis in her hind legs and it's been getting so painful for her to walk that she has been dragging her hind legs. Even with the steroids and pain meds from the vet it's still been really hard for her. She has good and bad days. Yesterday she didn't even want to eat her treats when I gave them to her, and has started to become incontinent. We took her into town to have her put down. I let the girls take my camera and take some pictures to remember her. Mikelle wants to make her own little scrapbook memorial with them. I took some of the pictures but the girls really did most of them themselves. I think that they both have a really good eye for photography. You can definitely tell that we're a scrapbooking family when they pose themselves for their pictures. It's been really hard emotionally for Mikelle, but she's doing better. She had came to me awhile ago crying and said,"Mom, I can't stand seeing her like this. I would do anything for her to not feel pain. I would even have a broken arm for her." She's accepting Jazzy going to heaven very well, but is still really sad. We'll definitely miss her, but are glad for the time we were able to spend with her.

The story of the little boy that put his calf down always comes to mind and definitely puts things into perspective. http://www.ksbj.org/eblogs/morningShow/wp-content/uploads/2007/10/logan-calf-story.mp3

Pine Valley

Where to start? So much has happened recently.
We just moved to Pine Valley and love it. It's taking some adjusting but overall has been a good move for us. The girls are really liking school. Mikelle was so worried about making friends (like she really needs to worry about that) and was so excited when she came home from school because she already had lots of friends. Even shy little Kassidee made many friends the first day of school. Kassidee is going to extended (not quite full day but longer than normal day) day kindergarten. She is especially excited about being able to choose chocolate milk for school lunch.
Here's some pics that we took on the first day of school!
