This is my mom and dad on their wedding day. I scanned and fixed all of their pictures of their wedding for them. I just have to say that I love the bell bottom tux. It's so fun to see old pictures. My parents look so young.

Picture 2:
My girls love to color on themselves. This was after Logan was born and I don't know if they knew they could get away with this because I was tired and not watching them as well as I should have or if it was just because they were bored. Who knows? Anyway, they not only colored all over themselves but also did their hair crazy. At least they used washable markers!

Rock band / Crab fest

For President's day we went to Bryce's house and finally used up the crab we have had in the freezer forever. We had lots of fun! The kids were really getting into rock band. Bryce, Matt and Draven also pulled out their real guitars and entertained us. Logan really loves music and got so excited watching everyone.
I'm on the lookout for the next crab sale!

For my birthday/Valentine's Day Matt was planning on taking me to Bryce Canyon. Well, the weather said,"No." So we went Zion's NP instead. We stayed at the Majestic View Lodge and even got a hike in. We had lots of fun. There was a small animal museum at the Majestic view that we looked at with Logan. It was great getting away. We came home Valentine's day and even got a chance to get a better look at one of the houses we are considering buying.

Kassidee finger update

For those that are wondering if Kassi's fingernail has fallen off yet..... the answer is "kinda." The top has fallen off. The bottom is still attached. Yeah, I know, Weird! It also unfortunately snags and catches on everything. Mikelle washed Kassidee's hair for her the other night because her hair kept getting caught in her fingernail. What a sweet sister. I have not been able to get a good picture of her finger (they are always blurry), but if I do happen to get one I'll post it. It looks really really weird!

I have absolutely no idea what I will make or when I will actually get time to make it. I already have a list of things to do and some of them take priority but I WILL get to it. I'm excited to actually get to make something and can't wait to see who the lucky winners are.

Logan is 8 months old. He has such a fun disposition and loves his family. He loves playing with Matt and the girls and they make him laugh. He's starting to say, "Dada," and knows who people are. He gives kisses and loves when asked. It's so cute! He's also going through the stranger phase and is very clingy. He warms up to people after a little while though. He loves to be outside and really loves to swim. We went to the new pool in Washington and he loved it. He was even okay with my mom holding him there while we went on the slide. He still doesn't crawl, but can scoot backwards. It usually makes him really mad. He gets really mad if he doesn't get what he wants so I'm expecting that he'll be crawling soon enough. He's such a fun addition to our family. I can't imagine life without him!

We had Mikelle's party at the Cottonwood Cove Park. It's a really neat park. The kids call it the spinny park. The playground equipment spins or moves in interesting ways. It was so much fun having all her friends and our family there. Thanks everyone for making it so great!

Discovery Gateway

These are kind of old. I have been such a slacker and haven't posted anything for so long. When we went to McKay's baptism we spent some time at the Discovery Gateway. We really needed to get the kids out of the house. This was really fun!

We stopped by to see my Grandma Florence and we pulled out the camera. The girls had fun on the wheelchair. Then Mikelle and Logan went for a ride. He thought that he was so big. She's doing a little better than she has been doing recently but she's still not doing great! I feel so bad for her. Poor Grandma!

Survivng Christmas

Well we survived Christmas and all (okay maybe not all) I have to say is,"I AM SO THANKFUL FOR GREAT FAMILY AND FRIENDS!" Things would have been awful without you. We had our Explorer break down right outside of Winchester. Thank goodness Matt made it off the road okay. We had a bearing go out and it made our vehicle swerve. My dad and brother spent some of Christmas Eve and some of Christmas looking at it for us. They even met us half way in Veyo to get the keys. Thanks guys!
We borrowed a vehicle to go to Christmas dinner in St. George. Thanks mom and dad B.
We got stuck behind a vehicle that had gone off of the road in Pine Valley into a ditch (dead man's curve) for about 35-40 mins on the way there. Logan cried all the rest of the way there and Kass whined. While we were there Kass hurt her finger. My parent's next door neighbor asked if that was our vehicle along the side of the road. He towed it for free! Thanks Paul! We just need to figure out how to repay him.
Ride home: crying baby, whining Kass, emotional Mikelle, stressed parents, and a blizzard that was blowing so hard we could barely see 10 ft in front of us. We made it though! Bryce & Ann's family got snowed in at our place for 2 days. It was fun having them there but I know that it was hard for them because they weren't really prepared. We have had a house full of people for quite some time. Jessica & Patrick's family came the week of Christmas and Jamin & Karen's family came the week after Christmas. It's been fun and a little crazy having soooo many people together. We were going to get pictures with everyone but they got cancelled.
We took Kass into my mom's work and we x-rayed her finger and had Dr. Parry look at it. Yep, It's broken! At least it's not out of place and we are just using a splint to prevent her from making it worse. Thanks Mom for coming and picking us up and taking us in since I didn't have a vehicle yet.
A guy at my dad's work fixed our vehicle for us free of charge. We just owe the price of the part. Thank you Bruce!
My brother got us a quote on tires and we were able to get them on the very next day. Thanks Ruddy!

So far, we have had a really eventful Christmas. It could have been a lot worse if it wasn't for such wonderful friends and family! I don't know what we would have done without all of their help! Thank you!!! We are so blessed!

Just some cute pictures

I snapped a few pictures when we were getting ready to do Papa Santa pictures and I thought that these pictures were too cute not to share.

"Papa" Santa

When Mikelle was a baby my dad dressed up like Santa and had pictures taken with her. When Kass was born he dressed up again to do pictures with her too.... and so a tradition was born. Mikelle knew it was my dad the year Kass was a baby. She called him "Papa Santa" and always thought that he was one of Santa's helpers. This year he really WAS looking like Santa! His beard didn't have to be colored quite as much. Logan was happy to sit on his lap and smiled so cute in all the pictures. Mia wasn't so sure. After we ate dinner we got to thinking that we probably should have fed her before we tried to do pictures. Her best smile was when we pulled out some frootloops! I love my family and love our tradition of Papa Santa. It's been really fun seeing how the different kids react to him when he dresses up. I know my mom doesn't like it so much when he grows out his beard but still likes our little tradition.

Best Card Ever

Matt and I went to dinner yesterday for his birthday! Mikelle went with her dad for the weekend and Kassidee stayed home with grandma and grandpa B. She had a great time. This morning she came downstairs to give Matt the card she made for him. It says," You don't look like this. You look like a dad! my dad! go have a happy birthday! love, Kassidee" It's Awesome!

Pictures Finally!!!!

We finally got our pictures from the fundraiser for the Young Women in our ward. Let me know what you think. Some of them are pretty funny. Logan wanted the sparkly dresses and was tired. Mikelle wanted to play. What was Kass looking at? She was just kind of there. I am very happy with some of them though. I love the one with me & Logan, Matt & Logan, and then there is a decent one of all of us.

6 MONTHS

Logan is 6 months already!
I'd post his stats but I can't find any of his papers from his doctor's visit. I do know that he is 15lbs 2oz. He feels soooo heavy I thought for sure he weighed more than that. He's such a little chunk! Mikelle carried them for me so I know they are around somewhere.

Logan can sit up now by himself for awhile.
He grabs EVERYTHING he can get his hands on. (Usually Mikelle's hair.)
He has become very vocal and also very opinionated!
He mostly makes grunty growling noises. Yes, he is definitely a boy!
He thinks Kassidee is hilarious!
He also got a new big boy car seat! He is much better in his new car seat but still hates the car. Now he just cries part of the time in the car.
He will drink anything from a cup. He loves cups!

What a big boy!
I can't believe he is already a half a year old!

Christmas Pictures

The Young Women in our ward were doing a fundraiser to earn money for girl's camp. They had someone taking family pictures at the church. We still haven't gotten the pictures back yet but here are some that we took when we had gotten home afterward. I'm anxiously waiting to see how they turned out. At least I know we all looked cute! Mikelle and Kassidee had a hard time during the shoot because they just wanted to play and Logan had a hard time because he wanted to touch the sparkly dresses. We still have to dress up a few more times. My dad dresses up like Santa whenever we have a new addition in the family. So, we need to get "Papa Santa" pictures when his beard gets a little bit longer. Then we need to do pictures with my side of the family (after my dad gets rid of the beard) and then we need to do pictures with Matt's side of the family. I think that by the end of December everyone is going to be sick of getting all dressed up.

Ready Party Consultant ????

So, I have been wanting to really get my family prepared.
I have been looking at different sites and found one that would allow me to become a consultant. They offer to teach you some preparedness skills but the rest you would need to research and acquire (something I need to do anyway.)
As a consultant I would hold parties either at my house or at the host's home.
There would be things to sample (MRE brownies or meal, various freeze dried foods, or even demonstration on cooking with food storage) and I could also demonstrate how to do things (use a flat fold stove, first aid, what to have in 72 hour kit, using MRE meals etc..)
So are you ready for my BIG question?
Is this something that you would come to? If I held a party would you be interested in coming?
I would also encourage bringing husbands and maybe older children. Being prepared isn't just for the women of the family. Although I have noticed that it tends to be really pushed in Relief Society yet hardly at all in Priesthood. Do you think that the men in the family would be interested in coming? I would also be happy to do demonstrations for scouts or whatever too if anyone is interested in that.
Is this something that you might like to host? As a host you have the possibility of earning up to $200 worth of supplies. I would also be willing to hold it at my own house if you invite the people. No frantic cleaning before guests come and I wouldn't have to haul all my stuff to your house. Although I would be happy to do either. We are looking at homes in the St. George area. I know Pine Valley is kind of a long drive. I'm not sure when we will be moving but I wanted to point out that it would be at our house in the St. George area if I did this.
So what do you think? Even if you don't live around us I'm just looking for opinions. Would you come to this or hold a party? Do you think that people would be very interested? I would want to be somewhat busy but not overloaded (I do have a baby at home and 2 wild girls that need me.)
If I do this I REALLY want to be prepared and probably wouldn't sign up for awhile. This might be the push I need to make me be better prepared and have the opportunity to teach what I learn. I believe you never really know something until you are able to teach someone else.

Special time with Kass

Mikelle went with her dad this weekend so we had some time with Kass. She had a hard time deciding what she wanted to do. She wanted to jump on the trampoline but it is in the shade and it's way too cold! She almost took us for a walk and we almost played outside and we almost did a lot of things. After wandering in circles for awhile we decided to make pizza and have a picnic inside. She helped me make some crust and then we made pizza. Her half was cheese and our half had artichoke hearts, chicken, zucchini, yellow squash, and olives on it. It was delicious. I also made cream of broccoli soup to go with it. We spread out her blanket in the middle of the floor and had a candle on a plate in the middle. After we ate she picked out games for us to play. She loved eating on the floor and she loved getting all the extra attention. She says she can't wait until she can do this with Mikelle. Then my uncle Larry called and asked if I could teach his primary class. Kass is in that class and was really excited about that. Logan and Kass both wore green and brown for church and they looked so cute we had to take a picture.

Here is the Pizza Crust recipe for anyone that wants it.
This is from Matt's mom. It was really easy and yummy!

2c whole wheat flour (We used 1/2c white and 1 1/2c whole wheat)
1 tsp salt
2/3c warm water
1 pkg dry yeast
1/3c salad oil (I used sesame oil because that's what I had)

Dissolve the yeast in the water, mix and let rise 10-15 min.
Bake at 425 for 15-20 min.

I just put spaghetti sauce and some fresh basil on our pizza for the sauce.
Then all our toppings and then lots of cheese.
Yummy!

Cloth Diapering

Cloth diapering, it's not just something your mom and grandma used to do.

We finally got our shipment of cloth diapers. I have been thinking of doing this for quite some time but it does require a hefty sum of money upfront. Overall it will actually save money. We bought the Bumgenius 3.0 which are an All-in-one (AIO for the cloth diapering tech savvy). All we have to do is stuff them. Super easy. They are adjustable and fit up to 35 lbs. No more dunking in the toilet like as in days of old. They now have cool sprayers that attach to the plumbing on your toilet. The best part are the wipes. Logan is super sensitive to all the crap they have in wipes. When he was a newborn we went through a few weeks where he was only able to use the Lansinoh brand... can we say expensive. Then we gradually were able to use the pampers sensitive. Anyway, I'm very excited and I'm sure the earth is happy with my decision and it's healthier for Logan.


Just a Few Facts:

Environmentally:

*Disposable diapers are the third most common consumer product in landfills today.

*A disposable diaper may take up to 500 years to decompose.

*One baby in disposable diapers will contribute at least 1 ton of waste to your local landfill.

Landfill issues are very important. There is a very interesting dilemma facing Hawaii right now as many of their landfills are either closing or set to close very soon.

Economically:

*According to a recent report about Disposable Diapers from Consumer Reports, "You can expect to spend $1,500 to $2,000 or more on disposables by the time your baby is out of them. Yes, babies are expensive!

*Kimberly Clark (Huggies) and Proctor & Gamble (Pampers) make incredible amounts of money off of consumers who choose to use disposable diapering products. In 2005, Kimberly Clark reported sales of $15.9 billion. Proctor and Gamble disclosed in their 2005 Annual Report that Baby Care is one of their core businesses "with a global share of approximately 37% of the market behind the strength of Pampers, with annual sales in excess of $6 billion."

*Great for long term emergency preparedness. There's no need to store bundles of 'sposies in your food storage.

Health Concerns:

*"Superabsorbent materials are important components in disposable diapers, training and youth pants and incontinence care products. Polypropylene and other synthetics and chemicals are the primary raw materials for manufacturing nonwoven fabrics, which are used in disposable diapers, training and youth pants, wet wipes, feminine pads, incontinence and health care products, and away-from-home wipers."

*Another issue frequently brought up in cloth diapering circles is dioxin exposure. According to a Mothering Magazine article, entitled "The Joy of Cloth Diapers" "Dioxin, which in various forms has been shown to cause cancer, birth defects, liver damage, and skin diseases, is a by-product of the paper-bleaching process used in manufacturing disposable diapers, and trace quantities may exist in the diapers themselves."


So far I have been really impressed at how easy they are to use. Of course this is only the first day! ha ha ha I let you know if my view changes.
I love the names of the different brands; fuzzi bunz, kissaluvs, happy heiny's, swaddlebees, bumgenious, thirsties, bummis, bumkins, tiny tush.
The best part though is how stinkin' cute my little one is in them.

Because it was the chickens day off!

It's turkey month! How do I know you ask? Because they run up and down the road like a crazy bunch of turkeys. I love how they run right in front of your car. You would think they would move over to the side, but No, they like to run right in front. This morning there were soooooo many of them. I was behind them all the way up our street and then they went right into our driveway. I wish I would have had my camera at that time because they were trapped between both vehicles and completely covered the driveway. There were some that kept flying over my car to get into the driveway. Of course by the time I had my camera they have scattered. They crack me up.





You're a turkey!!!!

Happy Halloweenie!

Halloween just isn't like it used to be. When I was a kid (Yes, I know I sound really old) we went trick or treating. That's it! I know who would have thought that people from the old days (according to Kassidee the old days is before the Nintendo DS) actually went door to door getting candy. We didn't have elaborate parties at school (although we did play games and have a treat), and there was no such thing as trunk or treating. I know, weird, huh?
I helped out in Mikelle's class for her party. It was so cute how all the girls wanted to hold Logan. He was the center of attention and loved every moment of it.
This year we went to the school Carnival on Friday. Kassidee was a princess for that day. Logan let me paint his face. Mikelle was a hunter. Ironically Mikelle could NEVER actually shoot or hurt anything. Matt was a lumberjack (If we would have gotten him some paper towels he would have been a great BRAWNY man) and I was a wench. My only regret is that we didn't get a family picture that day. It was fun, but I must say that it was kinda disturbing how many boys dressed up in girl costumes such as cheerleader, kimono and wig, little Bo Peep that I would not even allow my daughters to wear. The Little Bo Peep costume was a little uh... risque. It's not good when other boys think you have nice girl legs. Ahem, Bryce. hehehe Hmmmmm.... interesting night.
Saturday we went into St. George and did some trunk or treating at my parent's ward. Then we visited with my grandpa. Grandma Florence fell and hurt her shoulder really bad so we didn't get a chance to visit her. I feel soooo bad for her. :( And we missed Grandma Rue too. We had lots of fun. Kassidee was a witch that day. Logan refused to have his face painted. Matt was a City worker. Mikelle was a hunter and i was a wench (although my mom said I looked like a polygamous. ha ha ha All I have to say is,"It's hard finding costumes that you can nurse in.")It was a very busy 2 days!

Installing a Husband

I thought that this was funny. However I must be really blessed because my husband 1.0 works wonderfully although there may be a few glitches sometimes, and my mother-in-law 1.0 has no viruses. Great!

INSTALLING A HUSBAND



Dear Tech Support,

Last year I upgraded from Boyfriend 5.0 to Husband 1.0 and noticed a distinct slow down in overall system performance, particularly in the flower and jewelry applications, which operated flawlessly under Boyfriend 5.0.

In addition, Husband 1.0 uninstalled many other valuable programs, such as Romance 9.5 and Personal Attention 6.5, and then installed undesirable programs such as
NBA 5.0,
NFL 3.0 and
Golf Clubs 4.1.

Conversation 8.0 no longer runs, and Housecleaning 2.6 simply crashes the system.

Please note that I have tried running Nagging 5.3 to fix these problems, but to no avail.

First, keep in mind, Boyfriend 5.0 is an Entertainment Package, while Husband 1.0 is an operating system.

Please enter command: ithoughtyoulovedme.html and try to download Tears 6.2 also, don't forget to install the Guilt 3.0 update.

If that application works as designed, Husband1.0 should then automatically run the applications Jewelry 2.0 and Flowers 3.5.

However, remember, overuse of the above application can cause Husband 1.0 to default to Grumpy Silence 2.5,
Happy Hour 7.0 or Beer 6.1.

Please note that Beer 6. 1 is a very bad program that will download the Farting and Snoring Loudly Beta.

Whatever you do, DO NOT under any circumstances install Mother-In-Law 1.0
(it runs a virus in the background that will eventually seize control of all your system resources.)
In addition, please do not attempt to reinstall the Boyfriend 5.0 program.
These are unsupported applications and will crash Husband 1.0.

In summary, Husband 1.0 is a great program, but it does have limited memory and cannot learn new applications quickly.
You might consider buying additional software to improve memory & performance. We recommend:
Cooking 3.0 and
Hot Lingerie 7.7.

Well, I was tagged by Bonnie and since I haven't posted anything forever I decided I might as well put up something. To tell the truth there really has been anything really blog worthy for awhile, and I had hives all this last week and didn't feel like doing anything. Apparently, I'm allergic to birth control! Ugh! Look who's one!

Look who just turned one! Happy Birthday Mia! Matt and I missed our 10year reunion and went to Mia's party instead! What a little cutie! It was fun to have Cassie's boys there too! They had fun playing together with all the toys! There were so many toys it was like Christmas!

4 months

I can't believe how fast my little guy is growing! Logan is 4 months old already.
We took him to his 4 month check and the stats are in.....
He is: 14.42 lbs and 26inches long
What a jump!
2 months ago he was: 12 lbs and 22.83 inches long
Slow down, you're growing too fast!

He is turning into Mr. Personality. He is always smiling and just started laughing. I tried to video him laughing. He thinks it's funny when we say,"Did you find it?" in the voice from Flushed Away. No wonder he thinks it's so funny, I sound so dorky. So, if you don't smile at him laughing you can at least laugh at me. hahaha He had just gotten his shots and was running a fever and was still full of smiles. He has also had his first taste of real food. He now loves avocados and green beans. Am I surprised he likes to eat? Nope, not really! That kid loves to eat! That's what he does all day. The girls adore him and never even give him a chance to cry. What a cute boy! We love you Logi Bear!
